May 19, 2008:

ECOoutpost is pleased to announce the addition of David Short. David, a native of Anchorage, Alaska will serve as Creative Director and will be involved in tactical direction, marketing, and public relations of ECOoutpost as well as heading up the Outpost Features section.

Although currently residing in southern Minnesota, David is looking forward to moving back to his home state of Alaska, after his june wedding to fiancee Jessica. Outdoor enthusiasts, the pair have skipped registering with traditional wedding venues, instead opting to register at REI to stock up on outdoor items. David plans to chronicle his month long honeymoon, backpacking through eco-tourist spots throughout Europe and sharing them with us at ECOoutpost.

Upon returing to Alaska, in addition to his responsibilities with ECOoutpost, David plans to pursue a career in environmental engineering. David received his undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and will enroll this fall in the University of Alaska Anchorage's Master of Environmental Science and Technology program. He hopes to use this degree to work in the area of pollution and hazardous site remediation. He also hopes to use his ties in Alaska to help promote Inuit, or native Alaskan, business through ECOoutpost.
