How to Contribute to Outpost Articles

ECOoutpost is always on the lookout for new voices and perspectives for our feature articles. In order to gain a feel for our voice, prospective contributors are encouraged to review our Features Archive before submitting article ideas to us.

Topics we cover include:

Agriculture	Education	Religion and Values
Communication	Environment	Science
Consumption	Ethics	Social and Economic Development
Economics	Fair Trade	Society and Environment
Eco/Responsible Tourism	Globalization	Sustainable Development
Eco/Green Living	Human Rights	Women

We prefer unique, original articles which offer a positive viewpoint. Generally, we offer stories in a mix of narrative and tutorial styles. Articles should stand alone unless otherwise encouraged to continue in a series.

The primary measure of an articles likelihood of inclusion is its alignment with the core values of ECOoutpost. After all, thats why were here!

Final copies of articles must be submitted at least one week prior to our date of publication (the first of every month). If any editing must be done, please submit prior to that. We publish feature articles on a monthly basis.

Submissions should include the following:

• Articles may be submitted in the body of an e-mail or as an e-mail attachment in PC Word .doc format or past to Contact Us.
• Each article should be accompanied by a one-paragraph, 50-100 word synopsis.
• You may also include a photograph of yourself if you like (.gif or .jpg format).
• A list of related resources (if applicable): books, audio, videos, websites, etc.
• Each article should include your contact information: your full name, e-mail address, phone number and physical mailing address. (If you choose, your email address will be kept confidential. Otherwise, it will accompany your published article. Your phone number and mailing address will not be made public. We simply need that information to stay in touch with you.)

Articles may be direct selling pieces for a particular product or service. Since our articles are peer reviews, we generally cannot compensate contributions.
