I. Association and Admissions
ECOoutpost operates under a closed association policy. Each accepted associate is entitled to one, and only one, username. If you attempt to use multiple usernames, you will be required to retain only one. A second offense earns a temporary suspension of all related accounts. If you evade a suspension by registering a new username, the suspension will become a permanent ban.
II. Expected Behavior
ECOoutpost is intended for civil discussions about any and all aspects of eco, green and sustainable lifestyles. The forums are available for general discussion, but follow the same principals and terms for acceptable material. Heated debates on the communities are welcome, as long as they abide by the established guidelines. If an administrator or moderator sees that a thread or poster violates these guidelines, the thread may be closed or deleted, and posters may be permanently or temporarily banned from Outpost Community Forums. Please keep in mind that there is no tenure granted on this communityyour post count or association with other posters does not protect you from being banned.
A. Language
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use ECOoutpost to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, demeaning, derogatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law. Sexual, racial, or ethnic slurs will not be tolerated in any form and are punishable on the first offense. It is recommended that cursing be held to a minimum, as it does not promote civil conversation. Foul language in the form of insults directed towards other community members may result in a ban.
B. Trolling
While everyone has the right to an opinion, it is important to at least attempt to register it in a civil manner. Deliberate attempts at sidetracking constructive discussion by acting in a manner determined to deliberately seek negative attention from other community members is subject to warnings from the community staff. Accounts determined to have been created for the sole purpose of trolling are subject to permanent bans. Note that a member may be banned due to their trends. Bans are not always issued due to one action, but may be the result of a history of lesser misdemeanors. Use common sense to determine what is or is not allowedif you think that what you are about to post might not be acceptable, it makes sense to think of another way to put forth your views. Activities that are objectionable include (but are not limited to):
- Deliberate and inaccurate thread titles
- Thread titles with excessive punctuation/all caps
- Refusing to respect the opinions of others
- Attempting to derail threads by repeated irrelevant postings
- Personal insults and attacks
- Parody threads
C. Images
Images of a sexual or profane nature are strongly discouraged. Images presenting exposed genitalia, bared buttocks, and/or female nipple/areola are unacceptable. If it is inappropriate for daytime broadcast American Television, you should not post it on ECOoutpost. However, common sense and a "safe-for-work" rule should be the primary considerations. Also, spamming the community with the same image is not allowed and will result in thread closure or deletion and a possible ban.
D. Spam
Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate and will be removed promptly. Multiple postings of the same message will also be removed. Bans may be issued accordingly.
III. Moderation Policy
A. Moderation of the ECOoutpost Communities is not by committee. All decisions with regards to thread closure and movement, permanent and temporary bans, and membership issues are made by the ECOoutpost Administration and are final. That being said, constructive criticisms and suggestions are welcome, provided they are directed to ECOoutpost Administration via our Contact Form.
B. Considering the real-time nature of ECOoutpost, it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents of and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, and not necessarily the views of this community or any entity associated with this community. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately using our Contact Form. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if a removal is deemed necessary. However, this is a manual process. Please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.
C. Although we cannot review every message posted, and are not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold ECOoutpost harmless with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).
D. We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.
E. No posts should be made regarding your opinion of another user's actions or behavior. You may not discuss the rules and regulations of this board on the community. Any and all discussions regarding these matters should be discussed by EMAIL ONLY.
Registration to this community is free of charge. We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed above. Also be aware that these terms are subject to change at any time without notification.
IV. Partnership and Admissions
In addition to Association Conduct as outlined in Association and Admissions, Partnerships with ECOoutpost must abide by Partnership Terms and Agreement:
1. Partnership is a subscription service offered by our company ECOoutpost to individuals (hereafter Partners) who have a bona fide interest in eco commerce, agree with ECOoutpost philosophy and wish to support ECOoutpost in implementing it.
2. Partners Costs and Benefits are as stated on http://www.ecooutpost.com.html.
3. Partners should always act in a way that enhances the unity and strength of ECOoutpost and readily assists other partners, as well as associates.
4. Partners agree to indemnify ECOoutpost against any consequence resulting directly or indirectly from their status as a Partner.
5. ECOoutpost makes no guarantees as to the quality, non-interruption, availability, performance or benefits of this service. All our services are subject to availability.
6. Partners should not offer services that are incompatible with the philosophy of ECOoutpost.
7. We do not guarantee any potential or speculated business profits or benefits attached to your status as a Partner.
8. Partnership may be transferable and may be shared.
9. Information that appears on ECOoutpost.com website and email communications and in any sections is provided bona-fide, for your own personal and direct use only, and it should not be resold, re-transmitted, reproduced, broadcast or copied in any form without written permission. Violators will be instantly and permanently banned from Partnership, and legal action may also be pursued.
10. By becoming a Partner you agree to receive email communication from ECOoutpost.
11. You agree not to hold us responsible in relation to any damages caused by failure of participating Partners to honor a partnership benefit commitment.
12. You are free to resign from your Partnership at any time by sending an email notice to ECOoutpost. No refund will be made.
13. The provision of fraudulent information by you in your application form will lead to immediate termination of your Partnership, with no refund.
14. Failure to meet any of these terms and conditions may lead to the immediate termination of your Partnership, with no refund.
15. We may terminate your Partnership for any reason and at any time. In this case we will refund 1/12th of your Partnership Fee for every unused month of your Partnership. Refund can only be made by PayPal.
16. Upon expiration or termination of your Partnership, you will immediately remove and destroy all information and promotional material that identifies you as a Partner of ECOoutpost.
17. You agree to indemnify ECOoutpost against all claims made in relation to you or your Company. The payment of such indemnity shall not prevent us from seeking any and all damages suffered by us as a result of your illegal behavior or breach of contract.
18. These terms and benefits can be updated and/or amended at any time without notification by posting at this webpage.
19. Any dispute arising from this Agreement will be referred to the Virginia Court of Law.
